Laura Taute is a Partner at MTSA Law Group LLP, where she focuses exclusively on family law litigation. With over twenty years of legal experience, she is a seasoned trial attorney.
Ms. Taute began her legal career as a legal assistant at a personal injury firm in Las Vegas while attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Marketing with a minor in Economics in 2007. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from California Western School of Law in 2011, where she was recognized on the Dean’s Honors List and selected to practice as a certified law student during her final year.
Prior to relocating to California, Ms. Taute served as an Assistant Public Defender in Georgia, where she developed strong courtroom and trial advocacy skills handling a wide range of cases, including serious felony matters. This foundation informs her confident, strategic approach to litigation.
Ms. Taute is a seasoned family law litigator with extensive trial experience in complex financial and custody matters. Her practice includes high-asset property division, business valuation issues, spousal and child support, and highly contested custody and visitation disputes, including cases involving domestic violence. She is known for her ability to manage high-conflict cases, her strong trial advocacy skills, and her effectiveness in representing clients both in and out of the courtroom.
As the spouse of a military service member, Ms. Taute has lived and practiced law in multiple states, providing her with a broad and practical perspective. She is admitted to practice law in California, Arizona, and Georgia.
Outside of her practice, Ms. Taute enjoys spending time with her family, woodworking, and exploring new places throughout the Bay Area.
