Kimia Kojouri is an associate attorney with the San Jose location of MTSA Law Group. Kimia was born in Tehran, Iran and grew up in Hanover, Germany before she moved to Chicago, Illinois with her family. She moved to Northern California when she was 13 years old. Ms. Kojouri attended the San Francisco State University as an undergraduate. She completed her Bachelor of Arts with a degree in Communication Studies, and her emphasis was in Political Science. As an avid member of Speech and Debate club, Ms. Kojouri competed in a National Speech and Debate Competition during her time in San Francisco State University and her team progressed to the regional finals. It was here that Ms. Kojouri discovered her passion for law.

Ms. Kojouri went on to receive her Juris Doctor from California Western Law School in 2019, with honors. She became the first lawyer in her family. Ms. Kojouri completed her Post-Bar Externship at the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office, and continued to work there as a volunteer for 6 months after passing the California Bar Exam, to gain more trial experience in the Violent Felonies Unit and Homicide Unit. She was particularly passionate about helping victims of domestic violence. In 2020, Ms. Kojouri decided she wanted to pursue family law. She began working at the Family Law Facilitator’s Office for several months at the Santa Clara County Family Justice Center, and from there has been practicing family law exclusively in the San Jose area.

Ms. Kojouri has been practicing family law since 2020, and regularly handles all aspects of high-conflict family law cases from start to finish, from discovery through entry of Judgment. She has also completed a full Family Law trial on her own in March of 2022 and won her case for her client.

Ms. Kojouri’s goal for her clients is to obtain favorable results both in and out of the courtroom while also mitigating some of the nuances that come along with family law matters. Clients value her compassionate listening skills, caring demeanor, and active pursuit of creative and practical solutions to family law conflicts. As an immigrant, she understands the cultural implications in family dynamics, and she is able to patiently communicate with our diverse client base and her client’s feel supported by her representation.

During her free time, Ms. Kojouri can be found traveling, going to her dance studio, finding new restaurants, painting, or spending time with her family. Ms. Kojouri is fluent in Farsi, and can speak conversational Spanish.
