Eduardo Mattos

Eduardo Mattos joined Morgan Tidalgo Sukhodrev & Azzolino LLP as a family lawyer in 2021, where he now practices family law exclusively. Mr. Mattos focuses on all aspects of the dissolution process, including diverse financial issues, business valuation, property division, child and spousal support, post and prenuptial agreements, domestic violence, and custody disputes. Mr. Mattos is a caring and understanding professional who constantly strives to make his clients feel heard and make the best of all situations.

Before joining MTSA, Mr. Mattos worked as an attorney at a San Diego based firm where he specialized in business and corporate law. He worked closely with many entrepreneurs, startups, and well-established companies handling matters such as business formations, interpretation of laws, business agreements, regulatory compliance, privacy issues, trademarks, as well as mergers and acquisitions. He has also previously worked as an immigration attorney, assisting clients from all over the world, aiding in employment matters, investments, and family affairs.

Prior to practicing law in California, Mr. Mattos was an attorney in his hometown of Porte Alegre, Brazil, alongside his father. He graduated from one of the most prestigious law schools in Brazil, PUCRS, and has been a licensed attorney (OAB/RS) since 2012. Mr. Mattos provided legal advice on transactional, compliance, and government regulatory issues to companies. He also managed entity formation and ongoing corporate governance for related entities, as well as employment and civil litigation, including contract relations of professional soccer athletes for the soccer club Sport Club Internacional. Mr. Mattos is fluent in English and Portuguese.

Mr. Mattos is a third-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blackbelt and taught the well-known martial art for over ten years between Brazil and the U.S. concurrently with his law career. The experience gained teaching BJJ to adults, children, and law enforcement gave him a unique perspective on human behavior and psychology, which he now applies to his law practice. Mr. Mattos’ focus is now solely on the practice of law.

When not practicing law, Mr. Mattos is an active surfer and enjoys traveling with his wife up and down the coast in search of perfect waves. He lives a very active lifestyle, working out whenever possible, and exploring nature in his camper van.
